All tab show tabs showed as empty in App Gallery after installing apps

1. Make sure some apps are not updated to latest version(show red dot icon)

2. Drag App window to floating, resize it make sure the Apps window only show one column app and scroll bar is shown, window size can be 182X298.

3. Drag &Drop to install apps.
   ==>all tab tabs show as empty.

ORG-28619

Crash fixed when dragging red dot of axis in preview of dialogs

Red dots on axis is a new feature in Origin 2024 to interactively adjust axis scale.

But they should not show on axis in preview window of dialogs, such as merge graph windows, smoothing, etc. Somehow for previews with layer icon showing on axis, if user clicks on the layer icon on axis, the red dots will show. Drag it, Origin will crash.

No issue for preview windows without layer icon on axis.

Fixed in Origin 2024b.

Origin Fixed crash with long font name contain containing more than 32 characters

1. Install a long name font with more than 32 characters such as Fira Sans Extra Condensed Medium. you can download it from google fonts.

2. Start origin, press Ctrl+U to open Options dialog, in Text Fonts tab, set Default combo as Fira Sans Extra Condensed Medium, click ok.

In Origin 2024 and earlier versions,

1. Set up User Files Folder on One Drive

2. Right click the file in User Files Folder like OriginProjHistory.txt and click “Free up Space” in context menu.

3. Disconnect the Internet

4. Open Origin, then open a project.

5. ==>Origin crashes.

Issues on arrange with floating windowImprovements when arranging floating windows

1. Start Origin, select Window menu - Floating Window - Disabled.

2. Open a project which contains some floating windows, and they are not floating now.

3. Select Window menu - Tile Horizontally, (or Arrange Windows to open dialog, click OK with default settings.)

   ==> No window is arranged.

Issues Fixed issues when background color is not dark enough

1. Turn on dark mode.

2. Make a scatter plot with data.

3. Click the Background Color mini button to change color to be Cyan.

4. Ctrl + G to open export graphs dialog.
   ==> Notice that the No Preview text shows with black color and hard to see.

5. Expand Export Settings branch.
   ==> The “Follow Dark Mode Color” checkbox is not shown. So graph is not consider as in dark mode, but the Dark Mode mini toolbar is enabled, this is conflict.

Transparent Unexpected dropline fixed when exporting transparent error band has unexpected dropline in exported to vector image

1. Open sample opj in F11 dialog, Line and Symbol Graphs - Error Bars with Fill Area, or attached.

2. Export the graph as EMF, SVG and PDF file in the Simple Export dialog

3. Open the images with Adobe Illustrator 2023

==> There are unexpected drop lines in the exported image

2. click File: Export Graph to open expG2img dialog

3. make sure dialog theme is <last used>, then close the dialog without exporting. If there is no last used theme, click OK to export

4. click File: Export Graph: Open dialog

5. click the triangle button of dialog theme, select system default

6. click OK
   ==> error message: Variable value is not in predefined list, VarName = dk, VarValue = -1

3. open PD dialog, enable label, click apply

4. change page view to window view, click OK

1. Open the attached project file.

2. Copy all Open Tables(HTML) and paste to Word.

3. ==> It shows an extra line of X-Function name. It doesn’t happen for all report sheets.

Graph Copied to Word Show Font Shadows if Transparent BackgroundFont shadows fixed for graphs with transparent backgrounds copied to Word

1. Open the attached project file.

2. Choose Copy Graph as Image…, in the dialog, set Image Format to PNG, check Transparent Background.

3. ==> Paste to word. The texts show dark shadow. If Transparent Background not checked, no such issue.

Crash on Updating Image if Edit from OLEfixed when updating image opened from OLE (Object Linking and Embedding)

1. Make a simple scatter plot, Ctrl + J to copy page.

2. Open PowerPoint, Ctrl + V to paste as OLE, close origin.

3. Double click OLE object to open origin, new a workbook.

4. Right click on Sheet1's tab, select "Add Graph as Sheet: [Graph1]".

5. Close origin (no need to save).

6. Double click OLE object to open origin again.

7. New an image, import any picture file.
   ==>Origin crashes.
