When set Comment From to <none> and Comment To is not <none>, then the data rows before Comment To are not imported.

Connector now used for all D&D files when Use Connector is active on Select Filter dialog

1.Save two import filters for dat file.

2.Drag and drop multiple dat files into workspace.

3.Select Use Connector on the pop-up Select Filter dialog.

Origin Connector connects to Origin project file with query, will import wrong user defined label rows.

Contents between quotes no longer treated as numeric

When importing data with comma inside numeric, like "10,10,10,10,10","600031,600065,600031,600065,600031"…

==>The commas are removed, and imported as numeric.

Fixed in Origin 2024b. Now this kind of data is imported as text.

Note: For the thousand separator quotes, like "305,305,305,305,305", if don’t want to remove the thousand separator quotes, need to set “@STQ=1”.

Fixed crash when importing multiple files with long file path

Importing multiple files with file paths greater than 260 characters no longer causes a crash using the Connect Multiple Files dialog.

Matlab Connector changed to be embedded matrix after reimport

When use MATLAB/HDF/NetCDF connectors to import multiple variables with same dimensions into Worksheet, and then reimport.

==>It will be reimported into embedded matrix.

All tabs showed as empty in App Gallery after installing apps

  1. Make sure some apps are not updated to latest version(show red dot icon)

  2. Drag App window to floating, resize it make sure the Apps window only show one column app and scroll bar is shown, window size can be 182X298.

  3. Drag &Drop to install apps.
    ==>all tabs show as empty.

ORG-28619

Crash fixed when dragging red dot of axis in preview of dialogs

Red dots on axis is a new feature in Origin 2024 to interactively adjust axis scale.

But they should not show on axis in preview window of dialogs, such as merge graph windows, smoothing, etc. Somehow for previews with layer icon showing on axis, if user clicks on the layer icon on axis, the red dots will show. Drag it, Origin will crash.

No issue for preview windows without layer icon on axis.

Fixed in Origin 2024b.

Fixed crash with long font name containing more than 32 characters

  1. Install a long name font with more than 32 characters such as Fira Sans Extra Condensed Medium. you can download it from google fonts.

  2. Start origin, press Ctrl+U to open Options dialog, in Text Fonts tab, set Default combo as Fira Sans Extra Condensed Medium, click ok.

Fixed crash when User Files was stored in an online drive (e.g. One Drive)

In Origin 2024 and earlier versions,

  1. Set up User Files Folder on One Drive

  2. Right click the file in User Files Folder like OriginProjHistory.txt and click “Free up Space” in context menu.

  3. Disconnect the Internet

  4. Open Origin, then open a project.

  5. ==>Origin crashes.

  1. As default setting, Window: Float windows: Independent

  2. New a project

  3. New a book2 in Folder1. Then Drag Book2 as floating window.

  6. ==>Origin crashes.

Improvements when arranging floating windows

  1. Start Origin, select Window menu - Floating Window - Disabled.

  2. Open a project which contains some floating windows, and they are not floating now.

  3. Select Window menu - Tile Horizontally, (or Arrange Windows to open dialog, click OK with default settings.)

    ==> No window is arranged.
