Origin 2019 Beta1 Release

Origin 2019 Beta1 Release

General Testing Guidelines

Using this build for routine work:

Please use this build for routine tasks that you usually perform with Origin.

We have made every effort to ensure there is no issue with opening an existing  project file and then modifying and saving it from this new version.
But as a precautionary measure, we still recommend that you create a backup copy of your old project files before saving from this new version.

Testing new features:

Key new features and new Apps are documented in our Release Notes for 2019
Please test these features and let us know your comments/issues.

Please feel free to e-mail us to ask for more information or help with any of the features.

Communicating with OriginLab:

Please send all communication to the following e-mail address:

Installation Instructions

  1. Download Origin 2019 Beta from here: Origin2019Beta1_37b.zip
Note: The above link uses Dropbox. If that is blocked by your organization, please download from our ftp server.

If your PC has Origin 2017(9.4x) or Origin 2018/2018b(9.5x) installed:

Please run your Origin 2018/2018b and open Help: About Origin.
Check the Maintenance Expiration date.

  • If the Maintenance Expiration date is after 10/28/2018
You are qualified to install Origin 2019!
    1. Run the setup file for Origin 2019 to start installation.
The Serial Number and license will be obtained from the 2018/2018b installation automatically.
    2. After installing, simply launch 2019. See note below about UFF.
  • If the maintenance expiration date is before 10/28/2018
You are NOT qualified for Origin 2019
Please contact us and we will send you further instructions..

If your PC does not have Origin installed, or your Origin version is 2016(9.3) or older:

NOTE about User Files Folder (UFF)

This beta version uses a new, hard coded UFF location (.....\documents\Originlab\2019 UFF\)
We did this to avoid any issues with sharing UFF with older versions.
If you need to use your custom files such as themes, fitting functions etc, you can use the "Tools→Transfer User Files" menu item in Origin to copy your user files from older version to 2019.
