Error bars disappears in Origin 2023b

Error bars on graph disappear in Origin 2023b

Graph with error bar which showed fine in Origin 2023 disappears when the file is opened in Origin 2023b.

The issue only happens if the x axis tick labels is not using X column and clip data to frame is checked, which is the default setting in graph.

1. tick label type is Text from dataset but Dataset field is empty

2. X column is Text but tick label set to numeric

Workaround:

1. Set Clip data to Frame to Do not clip.

2. Or use the X column as tick labels.

Display problem of the Export Graph (Advanced)… dialog

File: Export Graph (Advanced)… dialog shows Runtime Error or a messed up dialog

File: Export Graph (Advanced)… dialog shows Origin C Function Runtime Error, VC Member function call execution error, or dialog opens but messed up.

The issue started since Origin 2023 because of some other code change related to cell formula.

Workaround in Origin 2023b and Origin 2023.

1. Restart Origin.

2. Choose Preferences: System Variables.

3. Aadd system variable FSF. change the value to 2 and click OK.

4. The export graph advanced will work.

The issue will be fixed in coming Origin 2024 so that system variable @fsf=1 will also work.

LaTex Text Fails to Render in some specific projects

LaTex Text Fails to Render in some specific projects

In some specific project files, the Latex Equation in the y axis title doesn’t render and shows blank.

Workaround:

1. Restart Origin.

2. Start a new graph, and click the Insert Equation button.

3. Type in Latex Equation and click OK to insert.

4. Then open project file again.

Some results of the Distribution fit tool may be wrong

The SD of estimate value of parameters of the Weibull distribution are wrong

In Origin 2023b and Origin 2023b SR1, Distribution fit: Weibull: Scale alpha and Shape beta SD of Estimate values wrong issue.

This issue will be fixed in Origin 2024.
